Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Children of Blood is a three-scenario Small Campaign Expansion for 1–4 investigators that sends players into the nighttime streets of Arkham to investigate a string of disappearances, gruesome attacks, and increasingly inhuman behavior. Designed for Arkham Horror: The Card Game, it combines cooperative investigation, deck-driven skill tests, narrative consequences, and campaign progression with a new blood chaos token that can slowly transform the investigators themselves. This is not a standalone game; a copy of the Arkham Horror: The Card Game core set is required to play.

The Monster May Be Closer Than You Think

Children of Blood starts as a hunt. Something is stalking Arkham's Waterfront district, and following that trail carries the investigators from dark streets into the city's underbelly and eventually into the considerably less discreet surroundings of a Northside party.

The clever horror is that the campaign does not leave corruption safely on the other side of the table. Blood tokens can become attached to investigators, and encounter effects grow more dangerous as that influence accumulates. The question gradually shifts from “What are we hunting?” to the much less comfortable “What exactly are we becoming?”

How the Game Works

Children of Blood uses the normal Arkham Horror: The Card Game framework: bring investigator decks built with the core game's card pool, explore locations, discover clues, confront enemies, and resolve skill tests through the chaos bag as the story develops across three connected scenarios.

The expansion introduces blood chaos tokens. Drawing one during a test creates additional uncertainty, and failed encounters can leave blood sealed on investigators where later effects can exploit it. Scenarios also change according to difficulty and other conditions, with locations, encounter material, and major threats capable of behaving differently between runs.

Completing the campaign can also unlock a reward that carries the blood-token system beyond Children of Blood, offering dangerous new power in other Arkham Horror scenarios at an appropriately horrible price.
