Cubitos: Fowl Play

Cubitos: Fowl Play is an expansion for Cubitos that makes the Cube Cup bigger in two different ways: more dice and more racers. Two entirely new colors of Ability Dice join the pool, all eight original colors receive additional Ability cards, a new double-sided racetrack introduces fresh rewards and hazards, and extra player components expand the base game from four racers to as many as six. The underlying game is still the push-your-luck dice race where rolling one more time can produce a brilliant turn or leave you with absolutely nothing to show for your confidence.

More Dice Choices Before You Inevitably Push Too Far

The two new dice colors are the headline addition, but the extra Ability cards for the original colors may be just as important over repeated plays.

Cubitos already changes character depending on which Ability card is assigned to each color. Fowl Play expands that matrix, so familiar red, yellow, blue, or purple dice can support strategies they could not use before.

The new track also does more than provide different artwork. New rewards and hazardous spaces give racers different route and timing problems to consider as they move around the course.

How the Game Works

Cubitos is required to play. Fowl Play uses the same dice-building race system from the base game.

Players roll their current collection of dice, setting successful results aside and deciding whether to stop or push their luck with another roll. Bust and you lose most of the turn's benefit. Stop safely and the rolled faces provide movement, money, and special abilities.

Money purchases stronger Ability Dice, gradually replacing the inefficient starting pool with a personalized collection. Fowl Play adds two new colors of dice plus new Ability-card options for the original eight colors, dramatically increasing the combinations that can appear during setup.

The double-sided racetrack adds new spaces, rewards, obstacles, and routing decisions. Extra Runner figures, player boards, Starting Dice, and phase components allow five- and six-player races.
