Dodo

Dodo is a 10-minute cooperative family game for 2–4 players built around a wonderfully simple problem: an egg is physically rolling down a mountain, and the bridges it needs have not been built yet. Roll the die, remember where the right building materials are hidden, and finish each bridge before the wibbly-wobbly egg reaches the gap.

The Egg Is the Timer

That is really the whole charm of Dodo. There is no countdown app or sand timer. Once the egg starts moving, everybody can see exactly why the next player should probably stop thinking and roll the die.

The memory game is simple enough for children, and teammates are allowed to help one another remember useful tiles. The unpredictable speed of the egg supplies most of the drama.

How the Game Works

Roll the die to see which building material is needed, then turn over a face-down tile from memory. Matching materials are added to the current bridge. Miss, and the tile goes back while the egg keeps moving.

Once a bridge has all of its required materials, attach it to the 3D mountain. Six bridges eventually create a path all the way to the rescue boat.

If the egg reaches an unfinished gap, everyone loses. Get it safely into the boat and the whole table wins.
