FlipToons: Season 2

FlipToons: Season 2 is a fast-playing deck-building and tableau-building card game for 1–4 players about assembling a ridiculous cast of cartoon performers and turning their talents into Fame. This standalone sequel introduces an entirely new roster of Toons and abilities while keeping the clever flip-score-upgrade rhythm of the original game. Play Season 2 by itself or combine it with the original FlipToons to support games with up to 8 players, making it both a complete game and an expansion for fans who already own Season 1.

Everybody Wants Top Billing

Your deck is technically a cast. Whether it resembles a carefully assembled ensemble or the kind of television production that gets canceled after one episode depends on what happens when the cards hit the table.

Each round, cards flip into a small grid where position matters. Talents trigger, neighboring characters interact, and an innocent-looking Toon can suddenly become the reason your entire production works. Then the Fame you generated goes straight back into improving the deck: hire stronger performers, cut somebody who keeps ruining the scene, shuffle everything together, and see what the next episode looks like.

FlipToons: Season 2 is a light, quick deck-building game with tableau synergies, market drafting, and a healthy dose of push-your-luck energy. It is especially good for gamers who enjoy building combos without committing to an hour-long engine builder.

How the Game Works

At the beginning of each Flip, you shuffle your entire deck and reveal cards into a 3-by-2 audition grid. Some cards can stack or alter the normal layout, so even the compact tableau can produce unexpected combinations.

As each Toon appears, its Talent can trigger based on its position, neighboring cards, symbols, or other conditions. Once the grid is complete, you total the Fame generated by your cast.

You then spend that Fame in the market to hire new Toons for future rounds or dismiss weaker cards from your deck. After spending, Fame resets and the upgraded deck gets shuffled for another Flip.

The first player to reach at least 30 Fame in a single Flip claims the Critic's Choice and triggers the endgame. Everyone then performs one Final Flip, and the player with the strongest final production wins.

Why You’ll Love It

• Deck-building condensed into a genuinely quick, portable game.
• Card position matters, making the order and layout of every Flip interesting.
• Hiring and dismissing Toons lets you gradually sculpt a stronger, more reliable cast.
• Fame resets between rounds, so victory is about building toward one spectacular performance rather than slowly accumulating points.
• New Season 2 characters and abilities create fresh combinations for experienced FlipToons players.
• Works completely on its own with no original game required.
• Combines with the first FlipToons for larger games of up to 8 players.
• Excellent when you want combo-building satisfaction without a long setup or playtime.
