Your little corner of Patagonia looks wonderfully open during the first few turns. There is space for habitats, an inviting route toward the water, and surely no reason anyone else would want that exact hex.

How the Game Works

Players use cards to place matching terrain and animals onto a modular hex map representing the Patagonian landscape. Connected land and animal groups become increasingly valuable, while positioning them near important features can open additional scoring opportunities.

The 2026 design replaces the older game's currency-driven structure with a streamlined card-based action system. Drafting and managing the right cards determines which parts of your network you can develop and when, making your hand both a plan and a constraint.

Water areas and viewing platforms provide valuable reasons to expand in particular directions, while Visitor Centers introduce variable powers that can alter strategic priorities from one game to the next. Because the map itself is modular and scales with player count, the geography you are solving changes as well.

Throughout the game, you are constantly weighing efficient growth against contested positioning. A beautiful network that never reaches the valuable parts of the map may not be nearly as useful as a smaller one built exactly where everyone wanted to go.
