Honeypot is a quick 1–6 player card game about secret-agent bears building traps for one another and then deciding how deeply to dig into suspicious caches of intel, gadgets, honey, and bees. Its central idea is an "I Stack, You Choose" system: you arrange cards into tempting groups for your opponents, knowing exactly what is hidden there, while they try to work out how much of your generosity is a setup. Meanwhile, they are preparing the same sort of problem for you.

You Made the Trap. Somebody Still Has to Take It.

Honeypot works because both sides of the exchange involve decisions. Building a cache is not simply dividing cards evenly. You want to combine valuable items with things that are awkward, dangerous, or particularly bad for the tableau your opponent has already built.

Then the roles reverse. When a cache reaches you, every additional card you uncover might improve the haul or reveal exactly why the other player wanted you to keep digging.

As everyone's collections grow, the bluff becomes more informed. You can see which intel and supplies another bear wants, which items will hurt their scoring, and what kind of bait may be especially difficult for them to ignore.

How the Game Works

Players arrange cards into secret caches and pass those opportunities around the table. When examining a cache, you decide how far to push your luck in search of useful intel and spy supplies rather than simply taking a predetermined packet of cards.

Collected cards build your personal tableau. Many items care about what else you have gathered, so a card that is excellent for one player may be mediocre or actively harmful for another.

That set-collection layer is what makes the cache building increasingly strategic. You are not only asking, "Will they take this?" You are asking, "What can I put beside it that makes taking it a mistake?"

The large card pool changes the combinations available from game to game, so the puzzle develops around what actually appears rather than a fixed sequence of traps.
