Tales from the Red Dragon Inn

Tales from the Red Dragon Inn takes the familiar troublemakers from The Red Dragon Inn and puts them back on the job. It is a standalone cooperative tactical dungeon crawler for 1–4 players, built around a 25-scenario campaign with six playable heroes, character upgrades, scenario-specific enemies, illustrated battle maps, puzzles, and objectives that change from adventure to adventure. You do not need any of the Red Dragon Inn card games to play it.

Before the Drinks, There Was Apparently Adventuring

Gerki, Fiona, Deirdre, Zot and Pooky, Gog, and Eve are much more competent when they are not several rounds into a drinking contest.

Each hero has a distinct role and set of powers, and those differences matter. Some characters are better at controlling space, some at damage, some at protecting or supporting the party. As the campaign develops, new cards and abilities expand those roles instead of simply making every number bigger.

The scenarios also have more variety than “enter room, remove monsters.” You might need to survive, protect something, reach a location, solve a situational puzzle, or stop an enemy plan before it finishes.

How the Game Works

Each player controls a hero with a personal mat, cards, abilities, and a Power Tree. On a hero turn, movement, attacks, items, and special abilities are used to work toward the scenario's objective while helping keep the rest of the party alive.

Enemies are controlled by the game. Different groups follow their own priorities and behavior rules, and scenarios frequently add special objectives or conditions that change how those enemies should be handled.

The campaign contains 25 scenarios across five chapters. New maps, foes, cards, abilities, and story developments are introduced as the party progresses.

A walkthrough teaches the system through the opening scenarios, while the dedicated solo rules adapt the tactical game for a single player.
