Transgalactica

Transgalactica is a highly interactive 2–5 player science-fiction Eurogame from Daniele Tascini about proving that your fleet deserves influence in a newly expanding galaxy. Captains trigger powerful actions through your Operations Panel, while rival players can spend Crew to follow those same actions without the Captain's bonus. That means a good action rarely belongs only to you. Explore planets, mine resources, establish trade, improve technology, deal with pirates, complete missions, and climb the political ladder toward the Galactic Senate, all while wondering how much your supposedly excellent move just helped everyone else.

Every Strong Action Has an Audience

The follow mechanism is the central social pressure in Transgalactica. Choosing an action is not just about what your fleet needs. You also have to look around the table and ask who else is waiting for you to choose it for them.

Captains get the full benefit. Crew can follow. That difference gives the active player an advantage, but repeatedly selecting actions that perfectly fit another player's engine can be a very efficient way to discover that they are winning.

The rest of the game spreads those decisions across several interconnected tracks and activities. Military power, technology, politics, exploration, commerce, mining, missions, and income all compete for attention during only five rounds.

How the Game Works

Each player controls a fleet with Captains, Crew, a Control Panel, and development tracks. On your turn, placing a Captain on your Operations Panel activates one of the game's major actions with its associated bonus.

Other players may then commit available Crew to follow that action at reduced strength. Since this can happen repeatedly throughout the round, Crew management determines how often you can benefit from other players' turns as well as your own.

Exploration sends your starship to new planets and can establish Outposts. Mining and trading develop resources and economic networks. Technology opens improvements that players compete to acquire. Missions create additional goals, while pirates and military development give fleets another reason to invest beyond pure economics.

Politics leads toward the Galactic Senate and its advantages. Galactic Decrees, Objectives, Wealth cards, Skills, fleet income, and other upgrades provide additional scoring and engine-building directions.

After five rounds, points from the systems you developed determine which governor turned the Transgalactica Decree into the most successful galactic career.
